Is the Coca-Cola Happiness Truck an event?
I think the Coca-Cola Happiness Truck is an event because each time it stops it brings people together and evokes the emotion of happiness out of all the participants. The happiness truck accomplishes its goal of spreading happiness. The event marketing was definitely effective. It made people happy watching all the genuine smiles of the participants after receiving an item from the truck. It made me appreciate Coca-Cola and their efforts. It also brought people together in a happy and fun way. It created a positive view of the brand. I think that creating that emotional connection with viewers was the marketing objective. It created a connection between Coca-Cola and smiles and happiness. I also think that the not having any talking was a strength. It allowed viewers to focus on the happiness they could see on people’s faces. The light music also added to the emotional impact. Smiles are universal, just like Coca-Cola wants to be. It was successful; it allowed us to focus on the people and on the Coca-Cola truck. The truck initially gave out Coke bottles and then switched to items. At first when it dispensed bottles it was touching to see how excited and happy people were about getting a Coke bottle out of the truck. When the truck started giving out other items the people remained very happy. The truck gave people items that immediately made them happy. It brought people together while showing Coca-Cola giving back to communities. It showed that Coca-Cola cares. One of the best objects that came out of the truck was the chair that an older lady got and she used it to sit and watch everyone else gather around the Happiness Truck. Participants of the Happiness Truck events and viewers can now associate Coca-Cola and happiness.
